The Map David Murrow

The Map by David Murrow

Why are Christian men worldwide leaving or becoming dissatisfied with the Church? David Murrow explores this phenomena from and interesting and very Biblical perspective. Is there a way to stop this exodus?

The first part of this book is a fictional adventure, that leads you on an exciting adventure similar to Dan Brown. The adventure of the author pulls you in, so you are right along with him every step of the way as he looks for the map that is the solution to stopping the exodus of men from the Church.

Once the author finishes his fictional journey by returning to his home in Alaska he then sinks his teeth into the map and all the points along the journey. At first I was dissapointed with the switch and the little bit of deception, but as I began to read his research and the Biblical principles through which he makes his connection, my disapointment evaporated as I was pulled into his theories. His evidence and results are sound and did not stray from what I knew of the Bible, but instead shed a little different light on it. I'm a strong proponent of looking at things from different perspectives and David Murrow masterfully guides me on that journey.

The only disappointment in the whole book was that there was not a similar map for women and Mr. Murrow could not tell us if the map would even work for women. Since I am a woman I would have liked to have a similar map for my spiritual journey. Definately a book I would recommend for all men and the women who care for them.

  3. I read this book too - why don't you think the map would work for women? My biggest problem w/ Murrow was that he assumed the 'Map' was only for men. But why? Matthew was written for ALL Christians, not just males.

Do you - as a woman - think you could follow his 'map'? I'd love to hear your thoughts.
